Fitness Center Program Overview
The Fitness Center at Clover Park Technical College is an inclusive space that provides students access to two studio spaces (Exercise Studio, Aerobic Studio) stocked with award-winning equipment by industry-leading fitness brand Matrix, TRX and a variety of other training tools for strength, mobility and physical fitness to support their health and wellness.

Fitness Center Policies
The Fitness Center policies were created to make the CPTC Fitness Center a safe, clean, inclusive and non- intimidating environment. These policies must be followed by all participants. The participant acknowledges the existence of and need for certain rules concerning the use of the equipment, facilities, and other procedures related to activities in the Fitness Center. The participant agrees to abide by those rules and to make every individual effort to keep the equipment and the facilities in safe and usable condition.
- Only currently registered participants are allowed to access the CPTC Fitness Center.
- All participants must complete and sign a Fitness Center- Assumption of Risk and Liability Release Form before using the CPTC Fitness Center or participating in its programs.
- Exercise at your own risk.
- Onsite staff are not certified or allowed to give training or coaching assistance.
- Patrons are required to wear closed toe athletic rubber-soled shoes in the fitness center. Five-finger shoes, dress shoes, cleats, sandals, bare feet and stocking feet are not permitted.
- Patrons must minimally wear a shirt that does not have an arm hole that is larger than one fist below the arm pit and covers the midriff. Shorts and pants must be worn at the waist.
- To avoid damaging the upholstery on the machines, patrons may not wear jeans, denim, or cargo pants with multiple buttons or zippers. This includes wearing weight belts while using any machine with upholstery.
- Vinyl clothing or excessive clothing worn for the purpose of increased sweat production is not permitted.
- CPTC is not responsible for lost or stolen items. There are a limited number of lockers available for use during the duration of your workout. To check out a lock, please see the Fitness Center staff.
- Lockers must be emptied daily
- Food, chewing gum and open drinks are not permitted in the fitness center. Closed-top water bottles are the exception.
- Workout chalk is not allowed in the fitness space
- All patrons should disinfect equipment before AND after use.
- Photography, video recording and talking on cell phones is prohibited in the Fitness Center.
- Please report any malfunctioning or broken equipment to center staff as soon as the problem is identified
- All equipment should be returned to its proper place after use

Eligibility
Students
Currently enrolled CPTC students who are taking classes in the current quarter and have signed Risk & Liability waiver on file, are eligible to access the center at no charge.
Employees
We are very excited to be able to offer a limited number of complimentary, fitness center memberships to CPTC staff and faculty until December 2023. The first 200 CPTC staff and faculty to fill out the CPTC Employee Complimentary Membership Form will receive a complimentary fitness center membership.
Once all the complimentary memberships have been allocated, additional employees who would like to utilize the Fitness Center must pay $10/month via payroll deduction. Unfortunately at this time we cannot accept cash or check. To initiate or cancel a payroll deduction for a membership to the Fitness Center, please complete the "Fitness Center Payroll Deduction Form". Generally payroll deductions will be applied to the subsequent pay period after the form is submitted. Requests to revoke permission of automatic deduction will applied at the first pay period of each month.

Community Members, Alumni & Campus Visitors

Cost
There are no out of pocket costs for CPTC students. This initiative is funded through the Associated Student Government and Services and Activities Fees paid by all CPTC students at time of registration.

Quarterly Verification
You must be a currently enrolled student to utilize the Fitness Center at no charge. Each quarter, students will need to verify their status as a student for that quarter and get an activities sticker from the Student Leadership & Service Center.
CPTC employees who enroll in the payroll deduction program will need to pick up a quarterly activities sticker that will be applied to their CPTC Employee ID. If you do not yet have a CPTC Employee ID, please make arrangements with the Security Department.

Yes! our plan is to begin offering fitness classes and workshops in the near future. Currently, our focus is on serving staff and students who utilize the space and learning about utilization patterns and trends.
Unfortunately at this time there are no showers or wash stations in the Student Center.
While there is no formal locker room in the Student Center, there are a number of bathrooms in the space that can be utilized for changing of clothes. Once inside the space, there are limited number of lockers available behind the check-in desk that can be utilized to store personal items while using the Fitness Center.
The Fitness Center will follow the college’s academic calendar and be closed on weekends, non-instruction/in-service days, holidays and between academic quarters.

We do have blue tooth speakers in the space that play a variety of music. Patrons are also more than welcome to bring headphones to listen/stream music from their personal device.
